Good fathers are very protective of their daughters and before a boy steps foot in the house, generally they know if a dad is strict. But an unidentified 19-year-old man did not heed the warning signs and he paid the price. The daughter had just recently moved in with her dad and was not happy with the house rules.
According to police, Reginald Hard, 38, came home to his West Redding, Pennsylvania, apartment and caught his 17-year-old daughter with the older teen. Hardy claims that the young man was sneaking around the apartment and disrespecting him in his own home. The enraged father admitted that he punched the young man in the face and then dragged him into the kitchen. Hardy then grabbed a knife, but did not stab the man. Instead, he began to methodically slice off the dreadlocks of the 19-year-old as a lesson. After giving the teen his unwanted grooming, he then told him if he caught the teen in his home again he would shoot him in the back.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Hardy for aggravated assault, terroristic threats and other offenses. Hardy stated that he was sorry for his actions, but added that the young man owes him an apology for disrespecting him and his household. Hardy was released on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
Many of his neighbors feel that Hardy’s actions were justified in protecting his daughter.
