Kevin “KP” Pendleton has been in the hair industry for 30 plus years. He specializes in promoting healthy hair, hair growth, cutting, coloring and weaves. KP comes from a line of professional hair artisans, including his mother, who “ran their family barbershop” which is now run by his sister. He’ll tell you, hair care “runs in the blood.”
In his position as technical director for Luster, he works as a stylist, works in marketing as well as hires, trains and evaluates stylists in the U.S., Caribbean, U.K. and South Africa. He adds, “I work in research and development to create new products, and work with marketing to create package images and manage photo shoots.”

What mark have you left on the hair industry?
I believe in edutainment, which is educating stylists and consumers while keeping them entertained. It’s my desire for them to absorb my knowledge and talent so they can be successful. As far as my personal brand is concerned, I’ve realized in addition to having a gift and talent, this is a business.
What other career goals do you have?
I want to own a beauty school were we teach at-risk students life skills, industry skills, collaboration and paying it forward.
