Dr. Oz is joined by singer, dancer and actress Jennifer Lopez. She shares all her secrets to looking and feeling great at any age.
On her health now, Lopez says: “I think for me, because I still do a lot of shows and things like that, my body is different. I feel like I’m better in the sense that I can do everything I did in my 20s better now. But I have a bad neck from injuries and my lower back from all the heels all the time. It’s just the different things that start aching a little bit, like when I wake up in the morning. I’m like this is new. It’s just those type of things that’s been my kind of issue lately.”
On loving yourself, Lopez shares: “My kids came into my life. They changed everything, as they do, because they show you what real, unconditional love feels like. You learn that and then you start thinking about relationships in a different way. All of that happening at the same time got me to the short message of I haven’t been taking care of myself or loving myself. In a way, and I know that sounds crazy, like ‘Oh my god, Jennifer doesn’t love herself’. But the truth is when you do love yourself, you don’t allow certain things to happen. You can’t keep blaming everybody else for your relationship and what’s happening like, ‘Oh, the other person messed up’. It’s like, ‘No, you’re doing something. You’re doing something wrong’. So all of that stuff got me to thinking I want to take care of myself better, because I want to be great for my kids.”
On if she’s drinking enough water daily, Lopez comments: “That’s the first time in 10,000 interviews that I’ve done in my life that anybody asked me the color of my pee.”
