“If you’re reading this, it’s too late,” was the sentiment many felt when Young Money rapper Drake pulled a Beyoncé and dropped a surprise album on the Internet.

Yesterday, just before midnight, the former “Degrassi” star, who appeared in 15-minute art film Jungle, released earlier in the day, later linked to a collection, titled If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late via Twitter. The project, containing 17 tracks, features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Travi$ Scott, and PartyNextDoor, and is available on SoundCloud or on iTunes for $12.99.

While Drizzy’s appearance in Jungle earlier in the day, in which he walks through the streets of Toronto to the sound of new tunes, tipped off some fans that something new might be on the horizon, we’d be lying if we said he didn’t just totally catch us off guard. This surprise album tactic was used most successfully by the Queen B, whose self-titled fifth album shut down the Internet when it launched on iTunes in December 2013.

If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late follows just under six years after the 28-year-old hip-hop head released his 2009 mixtape, So Far Gone. In July of last year, Drake announced that his his next album would be titled Views From the 6. Now, we’re all wondering if his latest release is that album renamed or if this is just a treat before his next major studio release.
