Kanye West, Roc Nation and his G.O.O.D. Music family shut down Fifth Avenue in New York City Thursday night for an epic outdoor concert at Madison Square Park billed as the “Roc City Classic” that drew more than 10,000 people despite temperatures in the teens and wind chills near zero. Roc Nation Sports stars Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock spoke to the crowd first, then Power 105 and Roc Nation personality Angie Martinez served as host.
Then the show began and the man of the hour, Kanye West, kicked off his performance with “Black Skinheads” and the “Don’t Like” remix. After performing “Cold,” the song in which Yeezy first professed his love for Kim Kardashian, who was watching the show nearby, Kanye was then joined onstage by his entire G.O.O.D. Music family for a performance of “Mercy” that was arguably the highlight of the show.
Kanye performed “Clique” with Big Sean, but not with the head of Roc Nation, Jay Z, who was also in attendance with his wife, Beyoncé. Big Sean performed his smash hit “IDFWY” and Kanye closed the show with “Only One.” Kanye was also joined onstage by Travi$ Scott, Fetty Wrap, Waka Flocka, as well as 2 Chainz and Pusha T.
