So … if you don’t mind, lemme lay some things down flat for a minute. I’m about to flex my Langston Hughes for a quick moment in hopes that we all continue to promote not just Black history … but to demonstrate what Black excellence is for all to see. What is Black excellence you say? I’m glad you asked.
Black Excellence is the essence of life. It is rich in culture and tradition.
It emanates from the very earth itself like freshly watered grass when meeting the warm sun. It is the spirit of the colored people, the Negroes, and the African Americans … those who overcame, with focused minds and devout hearts. Families far from their homes, whose history was erased, yet in whom the best elements of humanity have always survived … those who live dignified and free, who respect and promote life, for themselves and for the people and things that surround them. It is their music. It is their culture. It is their best scientists and engineers. It is their farmers and their master builders, their physicians, surgeons and entrepreneurs. It is their lawyers and their warriors, and their great champions of sport, Those whose spirit can be found in their blood, those native to the very most sweet spots, and any all that exist on this Earth.
We are Black excellence … celebrated for our grandeur … natural and elegant! We live out our dreams in each moment, shining bright with the brightest of stars!
OK? OK.
