Nicki Minaj and her ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, had one of the most shocking breakups of 2014 when they decided to end their decadelong relationship. However, with such a longtime relationship together, it’s hard for old feelings to die. And even though Minaj has moved on to Meek Mill, the former couple shocked the world this weekend when they exchanged sentimental anniversary tweets with each other.
On Saturday, the couple would’ve shared their 11th anniversary. And in honor of the occasion, Minaj tweeted “I will always love you.”
When Safaree got wind of Minaj’s tweet, he followed suit and posted a sentimental response.
“Im not gonna front like i dnt kno wat today woulda been I hope ur happy and wish u nothing but the best.. luv u 4ever. no love lost,” he wrote.
The pair eventually deleted their tweets, but when fans began retweeting and responding to Minaj’s first message, she posted “please stop” and has yet to delete that tweet from her page.
Minaj also hasn’t tweeted anything since that post.
Love may not be enough to sustain a relationship forever, but it’s clear that these two still feel strongly for each other, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they had a conversation with each other after the tweets were sent.
