The promise of new Rihanna material has been fulfilled. On Wednesday, the Barbadian beauty dropped yet another single, “B—- Better Have My Money,” but there’s a catch. You won’t find RiRi’s smash new hit available for download on iTunes or streaming on Spotify; at least not yet. Instead, the eight-time Grammy Award winner chose to debut the track using Dubsmash, an ultramodern video-messaging app, available via Apple’s iTunes store or Google Play. The pop star teased the new single release on her Instagram page featuring new cover art (pictured above) and message “#R8,” “#BBHMM” and “#March26.”
The 27-year-old also tweeted a link to her new music.
“Head to Dubsmash for a sneak peek of my new single #BBHMM!!” She included a link to the app, too. According to Rihanna’s Facebook page, fans will have to ability to “create your own dub” using the app. However, there has been no word as to when the song will be available to purchase or stream.
Earlier this month, Rihanna teased another song, “Higher,” by way of Instagram. Prior to her little teaser, on Jan. 25, she released “FourFiveSeconds,” a surprise collaboration with Paul McCartney and Kanye West. The single peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and became RiRi’s 26th top 10 hit. Although fans have been anticipating Rihanna to surprise them by releasing a full album, à la Beyoncé, this will just have to do … for now!
The singer, who currently voices Gratuity “Tip” Tucci in DreamWorks Animation’s Home, her most recent album, “Unapologetic,” was released in November 2012. It produced seven hit singles: “Diamonds,” “Stay,” “Pour It Up,” “Loveeeeeee Song,” “Right Now,” “What Now” and “Jump.”
