Lily Allen slams TIDAL, Beyoncé

Instagram

This week, Jay Z launched his  new streaming site, TIDAL, which is co-owned by 16 big-name artists and purports to carry high-quality music as well as exclusive artist content for fans. Since the site was announced, fans across the world have been both praising Jay Z’s new business venture as well as scratching their heads about this week’s star-studded press event and the message of the artist-driven content. But few voices of concern about TIDAL have been as loud as that of U.K. singer Lily Allen, who not only criticized the site, but took aim at one of the site’s biggest co-owners, Beyoncé.

Allen begin her critique of TIDAL earlier this week with a lengthy Twitter rant questioning the cost of the subscription service ($20 a month for the highest quality selection of 25 million songs, $10 a month for lower quality streams) as well as its benefit to listeners and artists.
