Family of Nicholas Thomas, slain by police, sets up account to raise money for funeral

The family of police shooting victim Nicholas Thomas, 23, who was unarmed at his place of employment when he was shot by a Smyrna police officer attempting to arrest him for a probation violation has created a GoFundMe account and request support for this unexpected funeral expense www.gofundme.com/justicefornicholas.

he was shot by a Smyrna Police Officer attempting to arrest him for a probation violation will be having the viewing of his body on Friday, April 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Willie Watkins Funeral Home located at 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. in Atlanta, GA 30310 and his funeral Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 407 Auburn Ave NE in Atlanta, GA 30312. The family asks for the support of the community by attending Nicholas Thomas’ service during this time of grief.

“No parent should lay their child to rest. It is a terrible time for this family and we stand by them,” says attorney Robert Bozeman, managing partner of the Davis Bozeman Law Firm.


He leaves to cherish his memory, his four-month-old daughter, London; mother, Felicia; father, Huey; and brother, Triston.
