Taraji P. Henson stole everyone’s heart this year with her tough as nails, sharp-tongued, but still loving character of Cookie Lyon on Fox’s hit show Empire. Although her character is loved by many, Henson recently commented that she “hates” Cookie.

In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Henson spoke about Cookie’s massive appeal with fans and joked that she hates Cookie for taking over her life.

“I hate that b—-. She’s stolen my identity! [Laughs] My friends don’t want to talk to me unless it’s about Cookie,” Henson joked.

However, Henson quickly got serious and explained that before getting the role of Cookie, she was ready to walk away from film and TV.

taraji really got lucky , i dont know what made her want to walk away from film that is what made her a name . .. people sometimes are not half as smart as the character you see on tv . lol she is one of them girls who is comfortable in her skin .. thats what i like .. .she dont really care as long as her son is educated . and she has nice things . … she aint competeing with no one .. . i love to see her on screen cause she is average and not over the top pretty …..girls and women relate to her and men too , ,cause they realize through her that chasing pretty women is taboo .. …. they miss out on the diamonds chaseing nothing …

she’s average???? really? I think she’s gorg. But she’s also sista girl relatable and I think women translate relatability/approachability/downtoearthness into …”she alright”. Its the same with Jill Scott, Ledisi, Tracee Ellis Ross…These are beautiful women, who are down…its always this aloofness, unapproachable, Queen of Sheba type mysticism that elevates women into “the most beautiful woman in the world” type shi!t.
