A week following LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ heartbreaking loss to the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals, the baller is speaking out about his disappointment. Sure, King James waged a hard-fought battle in the pivotal series, averaging more than 35 points a game, after two star Cavs players, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, were sidelined with injuries. But, unfortunately, James’ outstanding performance was not enough to carry the Cavs to victory.
After taking some necessary time to nurse his bruised ego, James finally opened up about the loss with a touching message to fans via Facebook.
“It hurt to lose. I’ve been in a funk lately, but this … this is what motivates me to do what I do,” he wrote. “How can I ever be down when I know my kids and my fans have my back? Being back home and back with my fans is everything that I dreamed of. Thank you for an incredible season. I’m not satisfied … I’m not happy with the way things turned out … I PROMISE to get better.#StriveForGreatness #ILoveTheseKids #GodBlessOurFans.”
Along with the message, James shared a photo of his two adorable sons gearing up for the wild Six Flags ride Tatsu. Well said, James! Nothing puts a smile back on your face like family.
