It’s “just another day (or week) at the office” for Jurassic World, as it manages to hold off Inside Out for the second week in a row to maintain its position as the number one movie in the country for the third consecutive week.
With another $54 million earned this week, Jurassic World not only retains the title as number one movie in the country, but the dinosaur action film also just crossed the half billion mark in America alone. You have to feel bad for Inside Out. The Amy Poehler and Bill Hader voice animated comedy just narrowly missed topping Jurassic World for the second week in a row, this time falling $2 million short with its draw of $52 million. The highly anticipated sequel Ted 2 opened at number three with a very respectable $33 million taken in. Family friendly feel good dog story Max brought in $12 million in its box off debut, which was good enough for fourth place. And rounding out the top five is Melissa McCarthy’s comedy, Spy.
