Legendary Oakland, California-based rapper Too Short is sitting in a California jail after opting for three months of lockup over three years of probation.
After failing to meet some community service requirements as part of a plea deal for a 2013 DUI case, the rapper, born Todd Shaw, was given a choice by the presiding judge of being given more time to complete the community service and accept three more years of probation, or he could do 90 days in jail.
The “Blow The Whistle” rapper opted for the three months because he didn’t want to spend another three years being monitored and reporting to a probation officer.
He began serving his 90-day sentence immediately after his court appearance.
