It seems the idea of the boy band has become an initial thought of old school or something solo artists were bred from in the past. Most of the time when we think of boy bands the first ones that come to my mind would be New Kids on the Block, Jodeci, Guy, N Sync, Backstreet Boys, One Direction and the list goes on and on. However, while combing through iTunes a new boy band caught my eye and they go by the name Believe.
What stood out about these handsome “surfer boys with an innocent appeal” was exactly what meets the eye; their look! It was something different about the energy I received when I tuned in to their single on iTunes “Pretty as You Are.” Automatically I felt a sense of tranquility (could have just been the beach water); but I’m quite sure it was the melodic sound of their harmony.
The dynamic group called Believe is made up of Austin Grey, Josh Killacky, Tristan Temmel and Alex Ditammaso. Believe was formed in Florida where their unique talents and abilities have come together to create a band not only sings and dances, but the group has a real synergy and friendship that makes them stand out among the rest.
Austin was born in Dallas; Josh is originally from Chicago; Tristan is from Altamonte, Florida; and Alex is from Clearwater, Florida. Although they all have similar backgrounds, each one has something different to bring to the table, and none of these boys are strangers to being in front of an audience. Austin is a singer-songwriter, musician and dancer with an acting background; Josh is an established actor, stellar choreographer-dancer and performer; Tristan is a level 10 gymnast with singing, performing and acting background; and Alex is a phenomenal performer, dancer and actor who also teaches choreography.
These guys are all passionate, dedicated and driven to pursue and accomplish their dreams. According to the group, “The united team is called Believe because we all feel that if you just ‘believe’ in yourself, there’s nothing you can’t do. The Believe motto: “If you don’t quit, you win.”
I believe this is what will make this group different from the upcoming boy bands and groups popping up left and right just looking to get paid. We know how hard it is for bands to stay together when they are not related; but I’m going to keep my fingers crossed on this one.
Keep up with these guys on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook under @Believefanz.
