Snoop Dogg believes he was racially profiled after being arrested in Sweden. The West Coast rapper was detained following a concert.
Snoop posted several videos on Instagram to reveal his anger over of the situation. “We’re getting sweated by the police for nothing,” Snoop said. “I’m in the back of a police car for nothing. They pulled [me] over for nothing. They’re taking me to the station where I gotta pee in a cup for nothing. All I did was come to this country and did a concert and now I gotta go to the police station.”
Swedish police took Snoop to the precinct and made him give a urine sample. He was soon released from police custody after the drug test.
After being released, Snoop posted another video on Instagram. “Profile, racial profile. Came and snatched me out my car, brought me down here. I’m in Sweden right now. It’s all good, though. Sorry about that peoples [sic], I’ll never be back to y’all country. It’s been real,” Snoop said.
A police spokesperson said Snoop was detained because authorities believed drug use was occurring in his vehicle. Once the drug test was administered, Snoop was released.
Snoop posted a final message to fans on Instagram. “I made it through. They took me down there, made me pee in a cup, didn’t find s—. No case. No nothing. But like Minister [Louis] Farrakhan say, ‘It’s better to be searched and not found with nothing than not to be searched at all.”
