Since making her debut in 2004, as a singer, songwriter and dancer, Ciara has struggled to remain on top. Until now. After a very public breakup with her baby’s daddy and fiance, Future; and finding new love with Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson, and releasing a new album, the 29-year-old is certainly making a comeback.

To top it off, she looks better (and happier) than ever before. In a recent photo story with VICE magazine, the “Dance Like We’re Making Love” recording artist channeled her inner first lady and gushed about Russell Wilson, her new album, Jackie, and her relationships. Check out a, excerpt from her chat below.

The latest album is named Jackie after your mother and your previous album was eponymous. Is there any significance behind that?
“With this album, it was named after my mom but it was inspired from the fact that I’m a new mom and I understand what it’s like to be in her shoes and see the world from her point of view. So I guess if you think about it, my last album was self-titled and now I’m naming it after my mom, it does have a progression and it makes me feel something really cool.”

In other words, despite her past failures at love, it appears that the timing is just right for Ciara and Wilson who have been spotted booed up, everywhere from the White House to an outing at the zoo, alongside CiCi’s son, baby Future.
