Daysha Phillips had desires of enhancing her figure and was willing to risk her life for the perfect look. According to reports by Fox 2 Now in St. Louis, Phillips, 22, went to a hotel near the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport to have the procedure done.
Phillips was accompanied by three other women who also received injections. The person who performed the procedure on Phillips charged each woman $300.
However, Phillips was the only woman who became sick a few days after receiving the enhancements. She eventually died. Police believe that the procedure was performed by Denise Ross and a transgender woman, Jimmy Clarke, from Dallas.
Ross and Clarke were charged in the death of a woman who received butt implants from them back in February. Wykesha Reid paid $500 for the injections and was later found dead in an abandoned beauty salon. Ross and Clarke fled, but they were later apprehended.
Ross was released on bond and a judge allowed her to take her ankle monitor off in July. Authorities believe they continued to perform the procedures while on bond.
Reportedly, the duo practiced without a license and closed their clients’ injections with cotton balls and super glue.
