Though not as heralded as hip-hop’s other elements of emceeing, dj’ing and graffiti, breakdancing has managed to craft a unique sub-culture of its own around the world.
Popular energy drink Red Bull is lending a hand to provide the art-form another platform to showcase some of the culture’s most elite breakers when it hosts its upcoming annual BC One North America Final. The b-boy competition will feature a field of sixteen contestants vying for a spot in the world finals to be held in Rome this coming November.
Media personality and renowned radio host Sway Calloway will serve as host of the event, which will take place on August 22 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida.
