More bad news for rapper The Game.
The 35-year-old Compton based emcee was recently hit with a lawsuit stemming from the cover art of his latest single, “Ryda,” featuring Dej Loaf.
A up-and-coming rapper and designer named Ariza Obey says Game used the an image from his Instagram without permission. The image, which features him holding a woman as they point guns in opposite directions, was posted to his account back in September of last year. Seven months later, the same image appears (with a few changes) as the cover for Game’s latest single.
Obey’s lawsuit says The Game came upon the picture because it was reposted by Masika Kalysha of Vh1’s “Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood,” whom happens to be friends with Ray J, who has the same manager as The Game.
Reports indicate Obey seeks to settle the suit for an undisclosed amount. Hopefully, he has better luck than the model who attempted to sue Ma$e for the same offense.
This latest lawsuit adds to the growing list of legal problems for Game, who recently settled a libel suit against him by his former nanny, and is currently dealing with an assault and battery charge in relation to a fight with an off-duty cop at a pickup basketball game.
Take a look at both Obey’s Instagram post and Game’s cover art for “Ryda” below.
