Please provide three “good to know” facts about you. Be creative. Tell us about your first job or the inspiration behind your writing.
1. I choked on a Dorito as a kid and as a result, only ate KFC mashed potatoes and gravy for several weeks because I didn’t want to experience choking again.
2. I grew up on farmland and ate and picked fresh fruits and vegetables. I know how to drive a tractor and gather fresh eggs from chickens.
3. Growing up, I wanted to move to LA and be a backup dancer for Janet Jackson or a choreographer or a high-end real estate agent.

What is the mission you set out to accomplish with your voice in this book?
The mission I have for 5 Key Facts To Building Buzz is to educate, inform and inspire entrepreneurs and I think I accomplished that.

Who are the authors you reread and why?
He didn’t author many books but Jim Rohn is someone who I constantly refer to time and time again because his lessons are simple but impactful and practical.

A great book has what?
In fiction, I like love, drama and conflict and a storyline that makes me feel like I was in the story with the characters and felt everything that happened. I like to be swept away and left wondering what happens to these people next, how are they doing on their life journey even after the book ends? In non-fiction, I like to be informed and learn new things. I like when a book will take information that I already feel like I know but give me a different perspective, which opens up an entire new way of thinking about something.

You develop character and ideas by….
Looking at my life and other people I know and always asking questions like, what if this happened, what if they decided to do this or how would this make this character feel if this happened. I said once that it’s like playing God because you’re creating and bringing people to life.

Where would you travel to write your next book?
I would like to say something deep like Israel but Hawaii is nice, particularly Maui.

What is the gift of reading?
Reading opens up your mind and can transport you to any place and time in the world. I get inspired and motivated when I read. Reading is a true gift because you are given so much when you read. You can learn how to do, have and be anything you want. You have the opportunity to educate, as well as entertain yourself inexpensively and stimulate the brain. Reading also gets me to thinking and can spark great ideas. I heard Jim Rohn said that most homes over $200k have libraries in them. Makes you understand why. Leaders are readers.
