R&B singer Reneard, formerly known as DJ Blak, recently released his new R&B album Confessions of A Virgo. It was hosted by television and Atlanta radio host Rashan Ali, whose lively personality brought warmth to the already intimate event. The party took place at an Audi dealership just outside of metro Atlanta where friends of the singer, reporters and other industry tastemakers were present.

During the event, Reneard  revealed his inspiration for his music as he mentioned Smokey Robinson and wanting to make “feel on her booty music, like the music we used to enjoy back in the day with LaFace Records.” The singer also made a point to mention what R&B meant to him, “R&B is about making your own sound and being independent.”

Having worked with artists like Young Joc, Jazzy Pha, and Young Jeezy, Reneard incorporated hip-hop and rap into his music despite it being an R&B album. His collaboration with Atlanta rappers TK N Cash on the song “Yeah Yeah” spoke volumes about the upbeat tone of the album. He spoke fondly of the two young men and their chemistry was evident on stage throughout their performance.

Reneard also performed two other songs off the album titled “Spaceship” which is a more sensual track focused on intimate relationships, and “Confessions of A Virgo” which is the first song on the track list. Overall, Reneard proved that he has the skills behind the turntable and the mic as music’s next R&B sensation.
