Azealia Banks and her caustic tongue have gotten her in trouble with the public and a bevy of celebrities on countless occasions in the past. So it comes as no surprise that her mouth got her in trouble, once again, this week when she hurled a homophobic slur at a flight attendant during a heated argument.
According to TMZ, the incident happened Monday night during a Delta flight from New York to LAX. A passenger who was sitting next to Banks told the site that after the flight landed around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Banks immediately tried to rush to get off the plane.
However, a French couple in front of her were gathering their carry on and when Banks tried to get by them, the French man put out his hand to stop her. That’s when Banks allegedly exploded and spit in the man’s face, punched him and scratched at his face.
A flight attendant rushed to the scene and grabbed Banks’ bag and told her to relax, but Banks proceeded to get in a struggle with the flight attendant over the bag.
A passenger on the plane began recording at this point and in a video posted by TMZ, Banks can be seen arguing with the flight attendant and the co-pilot over her bag. Banks tugs at her bag and calls the flight attendant a “f—–g f—-t!”
When the co-pilot told Banks that the police were called, she rushed off the plane and reportedly even dropped her phone. The police spoke with the French couple, but they declined to press charges. The police also spoke with Banks at the baggage claim and she told police that the French man hit her.
“I don’t tolerate b—-h a–ness and I don’t tolerate men putting their hands on me,” she allegedly said.
However, eyewitnesses are denying Banks’ claims that the Fench man hit her first and a Delta rep claims, “We are aware of the situation and are looking into it.”
Check out her response to the scandal, after the cut.
