In her video for her single, “Steel Here,” Tisha Campbell-Martin’s wears a letter across her chest. She was assaulted at age 3 and wears the apology letter and announces that she forgives her attacker for the assault. Singing isn’t new for the actress. It’s one of her first loves since she was a teen.
When the song debuted, Campbell-Martin wrote on Instagram,
In between scenes @drkenabc I’m typing quick so excuse typos I’ll fix later ?The great thing about social media is that all of you can hear first hand how thankful I am to each and every person out there who is downloading the single, who’s viewing the visuals on @vevo and all of you who have just had my back and been supportive of my career over the many years. I don’t take anything for granted. My writing partner and producer @bsladenow pointed out, “We don’t have a major label or machine pushing this.” So honestly I love you and thank you because for all of you to take this ride with me is a big effin DEAL. ❤❤❤ #steelherevideo https://vevo.ly/7s9u3Bthe single #steelhere is available on @itunes https://apple.co/1JkPLsU and @spotify
