Caitlyn Jenner’s name change just became official.
One week after the 65-year-old star submitted documents to legally change her name and gender, a judge has approved the request, reports E! News.
As previously reported, the “I Am Cait” star requested her name be changed from William Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Marie Jenner on Sept. 15; listing the reason for her name change as “to better match my identity” and signed the documents Bruce Jenner.
In a previous episode of her hit reality show, the former Olympian spoke with Drian Juarez, a representative from the Los Angeles LGBT Center, about the taxing process. “You have to go through the court-ordered process, which has been streamlined a bit,” Juarez tells her. “Before, you had to have gender-confirmation surgery before you could change your gender marker. There was advocacy done to change that, and now you just have to have clinically appropriate treatment to change your gender marker.”
Now, the reality star is celebrating her transition in a big way — with Starbucks! On Saturday, Sept. 26 Jenner shared a snap of her “Caitlyn” coffee cup and a beautiful bouquet of peach-colored roses. “Happy Saturday! What are your plans on this beautiful day?” wrote Jenner, showing her cup with a cheerful smiley face drawn on it.
Now that it’s official, we wonder what’s next for Jenner. We can hardly wait!
