“The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the No. 1 reality show on cable television, returns for its eighth season on Nov. 8. Seems the following top seven names are left to carry the torch this year; Kenya Moore (dating like a man), Phaedra Parks (as a single mom and businesswoman), Kandi Burruss (and her baby bump), Porsha Williams (got her peach back), Cynthia Bailey, (newcomer) thespian and producer Kim Fields, and fan favorite Sheree Whitfield — aka (#ShapebySheree), returns (yay) by popular demand. Sheree will be holding it down as a recurring friend of the show, along with Atlanta Hawks cheerleader and radio personality Shamea Morton.

After watching the trailer that Bravo released following the reunion show of “Married to Medicine,” I learned the following:

Kim Fields must have decided “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” and she leaped right into the world of reality television. For those of you who don’t know, Fields is probably one of the first set of black child actresses that paved the way for people of color to garner roles on major television networks from the humble beginnings of urban television programs (thanks Kim and Chip Fields). Seems Kim and her husband didn’t have their time occupied 110 percent with the birth of her new baby (20 months old) and they found the time for reality television in their lives. Can’t wait to see what hurdles Kim will encounter with the ladies.

Cynthia Bailey still has a heart of gold and continues to become very emotional when things are revealed about her husband Peter and his reputation with the ladies. Honestly, I don’t think Cynthia has anything to worry about because being debonair is just a part of Peter Thomas’ DNA. I believe it’s only when the girls are bringing the news back to Cynthia and their delivery is probably what sets Cynthia off every time.

Kandi Burruss seems to be chugging right along with baby in tow. I loved the way the trailer tried to get us excited indicating there may be complications. Hopefully, they tricked us and everything is OK. Phaedra seems like she might have a wandering eye for a new boo thang! Momma’s gotta live too. And of course the boys would probably be elated to have a male father figure around the house daily.

Kenya Moore is back on her dating kick with a new mentality to date like a man. I guess as long as she still “Thinks like a woman” she should be fine. Last but not least, Porsha, Porsha, Porsha my sweet Porsha. You are truly making me live vicariously through your dating life, social life, fashion life and you are just giving me “Fabulous Life Tea.” I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds this season.
