This U.S. military prison is located on the base of Fort Leavenworth. It is not part of the Federal Bureau of Prisons but if you’re a service member, you could be confined here. The USBD is the only maximum security prison for males and its prisoners are military service members found guilty by court-martial. The prison’s death row section is separate from the other prisoners and has included servicemen such as Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan who killed 12 soldiers and wounded 30 civilians.
