This facility was built in 2005 and has a large concentration of sex offenders because of the Sex Offender Management Program. There have been numerous violent fights at the facility and it currently houses Irish mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger, whose story is depicted in the new movie Black Mass. It is considered one of the most violent prisons in America.
