Janet Huckabee
The former first lady of Arkansas was born Janet McCain and married Mike Huckabee in 1977. She ran for Arkansas Secretary of State in 2002, the same year her husband was running for re-election as governor. Although she executed an aggressive campaign, she was defeated. She was diagnosed with spinal cancer in 2007 and spoke highly of her husband being supportive of her during that time. “It was a testing of his commitment to me,” she told Newsweek. “He took care of me, helped me learn to walk again, took me daily for six weeks to radiation therapy.” She reportedly helped Hurricane Katrina victims board evacuation buses in 2005. The Huckabees have three children, John Mark, Davis and Sarah.
