Sean “Diddy” Combs is headed back to the world of weekly television…sort of.
The music mogul will serve as executive producer of a new scripted sitcom for ABC tentatively called “The Hustle.”
Inspired by the real life adventures of Diddy’s assistant Sarah Snedeker, the show will center on a small-town girl who lands a job working as an assistant to a street-educated billionaire business mogul where she is instantly thrown into a foreign world of extravagance, debauchery and adventure.
Joining Diddy in the role of executive producer will be Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer), who will direct the show and pen the script alongside writer, Stacey Harman (“The Goldbergs”). Snedeker will also serve as a consultant and producer on the show.
“The Hustle” will mark Diddy’s first attempt at a scripted series though he is not altogether new to the world of television.
He participated in several seasons of MTV’s hit series “Making The Band,” where he also served as executive producer. Additionally, Combs was an executive producer on the critically acclaimed TV movie version of the famed Lorraine Hansberry stage play “A Raisin In The Sun.”
More recently, Combs was one of the executive producers of the sleeper hit film, Dope.
