Several employees have been fired from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after attempting to take pictures of Lamar Odom during his stay at the facility, according to TMZ.

Odom had been transported to the medical center after he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch. He arrived in critical condition, but he eventually regained consciousness and his health has steadily improved ever since. On Oct. 13, the athlete was then taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A., reportedly so that he could be closer to his family.

The terminated Sunrise Hospital employees were not only caught trying to sneak a picture of the 35-year-old while he fought for his life, but they are also accused of trying to access his medical records, which is a violation of The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

“We take all patient privacy very seriously and follow all HIPAA policies in compliance with federal regulations,” a representative for the hospital told TMZ.

Odom isn’t the first celebrity who has been in danger of their privacy being violated. His sister-in-law, Kim Kardashian, also had her privacy invaded during a hospital stay by medical workers, as well as Britney Spears. The employees involved in the breach of privacy in both situations were fired.
