A Hooters waitress and stripper named Zola quickly gained the attention of the public and a few major Hollywood players after sharing her tale on social media this week. Zola’s story details a trip to Florida with a fellow stripper turned prostitute and her bipolar, suicidal boyfriend went viral.

In a series of rapid-fire tweets on Tuesday, Oct. 27, the young woman opened up about meeting a girl named Jess while waiting tables at Hooters, and how after “vibing over our hoeism” the duo decided to take an impromptu trip to Florida. It was there that Jess had sex with upwards of 20 men in one night for money and her boyfriend Jarrett attempted suicide.

The entire time the two were working for a pimp named Z, who Zola later learned was wanted for murder and kidnapping. Can you say Lifetime movie? Anyway, check out her tale below.

The story, be it true or false, even gained the attention of director Ava DuVernay. “In India reading #Zola. Drama, humor, action, suspense, character development. She can write! There’s so much untapped talent in the hood,” the Selma director tweeted. She followed up by responding to a tweet from Zola by writing, “I see you, sis! I need the book. What’s good? Best seller in waiting. xo”

And while Zola has since deleted the story from Twitter, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw this story on a big screen in the near future.
“Got WAY more attention than I ever could’ve fathomed….literally having a meeting with my lawyer tomorrow to patent this…cus jesus christ,” Zola tweeted on Wednesday, Oct. 28 in response to all the attention.

As for whether the story could be true, a woman named Jess who looked similar to pictures Zola shared of the alleged woman responded to her tale on Instagram writing, “It is not freaking cool to wake up to all this bulls**t — ‘I am over the situations and events.”
