Get ready to say hi to the bad guy.
Rapper and burgeoning actor Common has landed a role as a villain opposite Keanu Reeves in the upcoming movie, John Wick 2.
The first Wick film followed the story of retired legendary assassin John Wick (Reeves), who is forced back into action when a notorious mobster steals his prized car and kills the puppy inside that was a last gift given to him by his late wife.
Released last year and considered somewhat of a classic in certain circles, John Wick grossed almost $45 million dollars at the box office and was received favorably by critics.
Though details for the sequel are scarce at this point, it is known that Common will take on the role of an assassin and main adversary to Wick.
John Wick 2 marks yet another credit to Common’s growing resume. Since making his silver screen debut in 2006’s Smokin’ Aces, the 43-year-old Chicago-born emcee has appeared in a number of high-profile films, including American Gangster, Just Wright, and the award-winning Selma.
He will be seen next as part of the ensemble cast of Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated film, Suicide Squad, which is set to be released August 2016.
