The opening night audience for Broadway’s “The Color Purple” was a night of debuts on Thursday, Dec. 10. Jennifer Hudson plays sensual singer Shug Avery. Danielle Brooks plays Sophia. British actress Cynthia Erivo is starring as Celie.
