Martin Shkreli out of jail: Will plans for Bobby Shmurda’s release resume?

Martin Shkreli has definitely had a busy week. Days ago the pharmaceutical CEO announced his plans to pay the $2M bail for Bobby Schmurda and within 24 hours he needed over double the amount to bail himself out of jail on charges of securities and wire fraud charges. Funny thing is everyone assumed if the CEO was to get arrested it would have been for boosting the price of the HIV medication he owns from $13.50 to $700 per pill overnight.

Shkreli was probably in shock when early Thursday morning F.B.I. agents arrested the 32-year-old multimillionaire at his apartment, only for him to post the $5M bail less than 24 hours later, using his home as collateral. Seems Martin is not sweating the situation, as he kindly took to Twitter as soon as he was released from jail:

Of course, in exchange Martin wants Schmurda to record an album for him. This may be a tall order to fill, as Martin wants a successful album for the amount of money he’s paying. Seems Martin has a special interest in becoming a big rap star but doesn’t want to risk the ridicule of a failed project. Someone’s got some serious decisions to make.

Martin putting his house as bail collateral was a brave but positive move. His spokesperson said, “Mr. Shkreli is confident he would be cleared of all charges.”

What are your thoughts? Should Schmurda take him up on his offer or should Martin seek other popular talent to seal the deal on his request for a fire beat? There’s a $5M budget out there (Martin at least spoke of one) to make him a hit.  He says he will pay Timbaland, Lil Wayne or Drake to make him a hit.
