Ayden’s first day of school
This week, Ayden begins his first day of school ever at one of Atlanta’s most distinguished private schools. On the ride to the school, Ayden tells his mother that he’s scared because he won’t be able to go with his mom wherever she goes anymore. Phaedra assures Ayden that she’ll still be with him every day, but when she begins talking about how she never thought he’d grow up so fast, Ayden tells her that he’ll always be her baby. Phaedra breaks down in tears and agrees that he always will be. Phaedra holds Ayden’s hand and says a prayer that both she and her son can remain strong and courageous as Ayden continues to grow up.
