Best-selling writer Ni’cola Mitchell has done it again; from the Pen of Ni’cola comes a tantalizing tail of lies and deceit woven into the exotic life of a dancehall queen titled Pum Pum. If you know anything about the island of Jamaica, then you already know it has many taboos. Jamaica still honors the buggary law, also known as the sodomy law, that outlaws “unnatural” acts, which includes anal, oral sex and bestiality.
When rolling out met up with the Mitchell she told us Pum Pum covers many social issues, including LGBT, and being a dancehall queen, but her main objective is to get across to people to not be judgmental.
“You may not believe in one’s lifestyle, belief system, or whom they are intimate with. But it is not for you to agree. If we all agreed on everything we would not be human species that God put us on Earth to be. With that being said, I hope you all enjoy the book,” she said.
Best-selling writer Ni’cola Mitchell will host the book launch and shop and sip for Pum Pum at Cephora Lounge, where she will meet and greet readers. Guests will enjoy food, wine, special performances, and prize giveaways. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used for the children of the Infectious Disease Clinic of Grady Hospital.
The event will take place Jan. 30, 2016, at Cephora Lounge, 3649 Clairmont Rd. Atlanta, from 6 to 9 p.m.
