The brains behind the Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, have landed their leading man and the resemblance is uncanny. With production finally underway, details surrounding the cast have now been announced. Demetrius Shipp, Jr. (a relatively unknown actor) has reportedly been cast to play the late Shakur. Rumor has it, Shipp was hand picked by producer L.T. Hutton due to his near identical appearance to the iconic artist. Here’s to hoping he has the talent to match.

Although this will be Shipp’s first major acting role, he is in great hands, as he’ll appear alongside Jamal Woodard. You may recall Woodard played Biggie Smalls in the 2009 biopic Notorious. The Benny Boom-directed motion picture has yet to receive a release date, but it is currently filming in Atlanta.

According to reports, the highly anticipated film will highlight the West Coast rapper’s controversial and inspiring legacy, leading up to his tragic death in Las Vegas, NV in 1996. For a look at the remainder of the cast, including who has signed on to play Jada Pinkett Smith, “Legs,” Shakur’s mother, Faith Evans and more, hit the flip.
