Although some Black celebrities have vowed to boycott the Oscars this year due to there being no Black nominees, Chris Rock is reportedly going to carry out his duties as host of the ceremony.

Academy Awards producer Reginald Hudlin told “Entertainment Tonight” that Rock had already written his jokes for the show, but scrapped everything once the racial controversy began heating up.

“Chris is hard at work. He and his writing staff locked themselves in a room,” Hudlin said. “As things got a little provocative and exciting, he said, ‘I’m throwing out the show I wrote and I’m writing a new show.’”

“Chris is that thorough,” Hudlin continued. “He’s that brilliant, and I have 1000 percent confidence that he will deliver something that people will be talking about for weeks.”

Hudlin said that Rock is sure to deliver some material about the lack of diversity the Oscars have been so heavily criticized for.

“You should expect [#OscarsSoWhite jokes],” he added. “And, yes, the Academy is ready for him to do that. They’re excited about him doing that. They know that’s what we need. They know that’s what the public wants, and we deliver what the people want.”

Will you be watching Chris Rock host the Oscars on February 28?
