TK N Cash made a name for themselves after releasing the focused track, “Mind Right,” in late 2014. The single became a hit and they followed with the buzz worthy, “3 X in a Row.” Both singles allowed the duo to solidify themselves as a top group to watch in rap.
During their Young Hustle tour, the duo spoke with rolling out.
How did the group TK N Cash form?
Cash- We are both from Augusta, Georgia. My brother and TK’s father put us together. We recorded music and kept recording music until the group was formed and here we are.
TK – We wouldn’t consider ourselves a group because we’re individuals and we make amazing music, that’s my brother.
Cash – But we’re still a group!
With so many recording artists in the industry, at this point in music someone sound can be mistaken for others, how do you create and keep your own sound?
Cash- We talk about everything that we do in real life situations in the studio. We talk about actual things we are going through, that is how we keep ourselves different.
TK- I feel like when everybody is trying to be different they actually become the same because nobody wants to be themselves, so that’s all we can is be is ourselves.
Who in the industry do you guys look up to and listen to at the moment?
Cash- J. Cole , Future, Outkast and TK N Cash.
After the “Mind Right” success people may have thought that was it, but then you all delivered the hit “3x In A Row,” how do you keep constant with hits and what is the future like for TK N Cash?
Cash-Just keep dropping singles and continue recording. Our mangers stay on us about continually recording because we use to spend a lot of time perfecting one track, but at the same time we make sure to still produce quality work at a faster pace.
What is your best piece of advice for upcoming Atlanta rappers?
Cash- Stay consistent and stay perfecting your craft. But overall keep God first at all times and be yourself and you will be good.
TK – don’t be no chump man, go and get it, you dig!
