Last year, the world seemed to be crying along with Tyra Banks when she tearfully revealed on “FABLife” that she’d been struggling to conceive a child and that it was difficult dealing with people asking her when she’s going to become a mom. Now, the 42-year-old supermodel has revealed that she’s finally welcomed a baby into her life.
Last night, Banks posted a photo on her Instagram page of a tiny baby cap and revealed to her millions of followers that she is now a mother to a newborn son named York Banks Asla via a gestational surrogate.
“The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world,” Banks captioned the photo.
Accoridng to media reports, Banks released a statement about her and her boyfriend, Norwegian photographer Erik Asla, who is the father of the child, becoming parents.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik,” Banks said.
“As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms,” she added.
We’re excited for Banks and we’re glad that she and Asla can enjoy being parents together.
