It comes as no surprise that Johnson feels that way about Pacquiao’s comments considering many years as an LGBT advocate working on breaking down homophobia both in hip-hop and in sports. It especially makes sense considering that Johnson has stood proudly behind his own son, E.J. Johnson, who is known for his flamboyant style, for coming out of the closet as gay.
Perhaps Pacquiao should take a page from Johnson’s book about learning to love and respect all sports fans, especially when they’ve played a part in supporting your career. Unfortunately for Pacquiao, it may take losing millions of dollars for him to learn that lesson.
