Demetria McKinney slayed the stage with her incredible performance at the Real Love Music Experience, which is a weekly Tuesday night live music event at Scales 925 in Atlanta. I don’t think the crowd was ready for McKinney to take them down memory lane. McKinney performed some of her new songs from her recently released LP and then she brought it back home with a little Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston.

Several local influencers showed up to support McKinney, such as Life Coach Akima Day, Monyetta Shaw, Amy Eslami, Andrew Prince, Quinn “the Jukebox” Singer,  Lele from SWV, actor Dennis White, former NFL player Eddie Drummond, reality television star Toya Wright and of course McKinney’s fiancé Roger Bobb. It was a packed house and McKinney did not disappoint.

The following night, McKinney opened up for Tank in Atlanta at Center Stage and she was joined by Kandi Burruss. Tank’s concert was McKinney and Burruss’s first time performing her new single “Unnecessary Trouble.” We were hoping Burruss popped up at Scales to do the same song with McKinney but it just didn’t happen. .

The Real Love Music Experience is growing to become a big hit, drawing people to Scales 925. In case you didn’t know, this restaurant is owned by Atlanta entertainer and rap artist TI. On Tuesday nights, the service has been superb, speedy and the food is absolutely amazing. Special thanks to Melvin Middleton, his twin brother Marcel their company Trublud & Scales 925 Live for creating this Tuesday night event.

The previous week, Angie Stone performed, blew the roof off the restaurant and it looked like she left with an entire new group of background singers. Angie put on a show with hits like “Brotha”, “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” and “No More Rain.” She shut it down with her new hit “2 Bad Habits.”

Angie Stone brought along Cheryl the Pearl and they took us back to the days when Angie first started as one of the first female rap artists to grace the mic. Yes, she delivered on her rap and did not skip a beat.

Check out some of the photos, after the break.
