“Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” standout EJ Johnson has landed his very own spinoff series, “EJ and the City.”
Premiering on June 19 (following the “Rich Kids'” season 4 finale), the six-part spinoff will center on the fashionably fabulous Johnson, who recently dropped 180 pounds after he underwent gastric sleeve surgery, in hopes of taking his career and love life to the next level. “The surgery was definitely the best thing that ever happened to me,” Johnson said during a past episode. “I never thought that I’d look this good, and that is the God’s honest truth.”
As for how the reality star maintains his new figure, he told Page Six at the time that it’s a combination of both dedication, Pilates, and eating clean. He said, “I really think it’s important that you not listen to so many fads; you really need to find what works for you.”
The son of basketball star Magic Johnson,EJ, 23, will be joined by his squad, including sister Elisa Johnson, LL Cool J’s daughter Samaria Smith and real estate development heir Sanaz Panahi. “EJ continues to be a standout character on #RichKids, with his over-the-top personality and incomparable style, and now viewers will get a chance to follow him on a whole new journey as he embraces his newfound self-confidence and works to build a brand that lives up to his family name,” E! exec Jeff Olde said in a statement.
Produced by ITV Entertainment in association with GGTV and Leepson Bounds Entertainment, the project is helmed by executive producers Gennifer Gardiner, David Leepson, Eric Kranzler and Doron Ofir. The highly anticipated series is set to premiere on E! on Sunday, June 19, at 11 p.m. ET before moving to Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
