Draya Michele and Orlando Scandrick haven’t always had a peaceful time together during their pregnancy as they’ve publicly sparred with each other online and even broke up and got back together. But over the last month, things seemed to have calmed down between the on-and-off couple. And now the couple has a lot to smile about because Michele recently announced that they welcomed their first child together.
Michele made the announcement on her Instagram page last night, revealing that she gave birth to a son named Jru Scandrick last Friday, April 8.
“Last maternity photo!!!!!!!!! Our family’s youngest prince is here. We love you Jru (pronounced Drew) 4.8.2016,” Michele captioned the photo.
She then posted a video and explained that she went into labor just a few hours after the maternity shoot was finished. She also playfully claimed that Beyoncé is her child’s unofficial godmother.
“There’s no such thing as too much @beyonce in one day, unless you’re pushing 9 months pregnant. I Def went into labor exactly 5 hours after this…….so with that being said, @beyonce you are Jru’s fairy godmother. Thanks,” Michele wrote in the caption.
According to media reports, Jru weighed 6.5 lbs., and measured 20 inches long when he was born in a Burbank, California hospital. And for those wondering how to pronounce the baby’s name, it’s pronounced “Drew.”
Michele gave a statement about her delivery to the press and explained that her 13-year-old son, Knicko, and Scandrick’s twin daughters, Taylor and Tatiana, are happy to have a little brother added to their family.
“We are super excited to add our sixth member to the family,” Michele said. “He’s such a good, healthy baby and everyone is already infatuated with him. His brother and sisters are in love.”
Congratulations to the couple on a healthy birth and we wish them the best together.
