Tatyana Ali is a girl on top. With a baby on the way and a magical wedding to plan, it’s no surprise that “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum is radiating nothing but positive vibes.
“It’s pretty amazing,” Ali, 37, told People of her blossoming pregnancy. “There’s so much good. We feel so blessed. We’re just having fun enjoying our family and our friends and that’s what we want the wedding to be about — just have a good celebration.”
Ali is expecting her first child with fiancé Dr. Vaughn Rasberry. The cute couple’s love story began a year and a half ago, when the Love That Girl star decided to try her hand at online dating. “Vaughn and I met on eHarmony!” she told Yahoo. “It was my first time dating online. We wrote letters for months before we decided to Skype. And then, of course, met.”
Ali went on to gush about Rasberry’s “perfect” proposal. “He took me on a 45-minute hike in the Redwoods [in Yosemite, California], which he knows I absolutely love,” said Ali. “And proposed in the most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect. We’re best friends.”
While this is arguably the pair’s busiest season yet, Ali revealed she’s not allowing herself to get wrapped up in the logistics of it all. “Because I’m expecting, I can’t feel too stressed out,” she continued to People “I probably would’ve been, but I can’t take [the wedding planning] that seriously.” Adding, “Things will fall into place. I have a great wedding coordinator. The stressed out part — I can leave that aside.”
Meanwhile, the expectant mum revealed she’s laying low until her little person arrives. “We’re reading the books, imagining, dreaming out loud,” says Ali. “A lot of just wondering who this person is going to be, who this person is, and you don’t really know until they’re here. We’re ready for the adventure!”
