Work! Work! Work! RIhanna gets it in. The pop goddess is enjoying so much success in music, beauty, fashion and now shoes. Her limited-edition shoe line with legendary designer Manolo Blahnik is named “Denim Desserts” and features her tattoos, is due in stores this week. They feature embroidery in the pattern of Rihanna’s hand tattoos.

“The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes… I am sorry for that woman because I’m going to literally run after her, shouting, ‘Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?’ I’m going to have a moment!” Rihanna says in a statement to press.

During an interview with Glamour, the Italian designer sheds some light on how they came up with the designs for the RIhanna X Blahnik collection.

Back story on 9-to-5 boots

Rihanna wanted thigh-high denim boots linked with a belt at the waist. I mentioned that I did something similar in the past, so together we came up with the “9-to-5” boot. I think the result really suits her. She already wore them and they look great! I love gutsy ideas like that. Either you go all the way or not at all. And that’s how Rihanna is.

These boots are seductive and as Rihanna said ‘they are dangerous’, so bear that in mind. As long as you are having fun, you can’t go wrong. Style is an attitude.

Why denim for this collection?

The denim, it was Rihanna’s idea—an exciting challenge for me. I love a challenge!

So I think putting both of our minds together into this project produced something quite special: denim shoes adorned with beautiful artisanal embroidery. I really hope people like this combination.

All the pieces in the collection are limited and available to purchase in-store only on May 5. The shoes will range from $895 to $3,995.
