There seems to be an epidemic in the number of teachers being accused of having sex with students. Every few weeks, a story pops up of a teacher engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a pupil and the metro Atlanta area is no different. But in the 2016 school year, one metro Atlanta county has seen at least 4 teachers accused of the crime. Gwinnett County, Georgia, has the dubious distinction of leading the way in this trend.
Here is a look at teachers who’ve made the news for all the wrong reasons:
James Buckland, 43, Summerour Middle School/Arrested: Oct. 7, 2015
Allegations: Buckland is accused of touching a 16-year-old girl inappropriately at the school. He is currently incarcerated at the Gwinnett County Jail awaiting a court date on May 27, 2016
