Singer Sinead O’Connor sparked controversy with her comments recently regarding the death of Prince. The singer accused comedian Arsenio Hall of supplying drugs to Prince many years ago, a claim that Hall has denied. O’Connor is currently being sued for libel by Hall over her comments. But now the erratic singer is back in the news as family and friends have reported her missing. According to police, she left to go on a bike ride on Sunday morning near Chicago and has not returned. Concerned family is now wondering about a strange Facebook post from O’Connor.
Her status update from Sunday morning reads:
Jake, kindly go to the court on Tuesday and take custody your brother from Tulsa. My lawyer will be making the illegal way yourself and Donal got him into Tulsa (lying to the cops etc) known to the judge. Expect to be in trouble. In fact you’d best bring a lawyer of your own. And do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal.
O’Connor has claimed to be suicidal in the past and reportedly has undergone mental health treatment. In November 2015, she posted what many believed to have been a suicide note that read, “There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear, I’ve taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name. If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out.” Fortunately she was found unharmed later, to the relief of family and fans.
O’Connor has been very open about her battle with depression and has made frequent social media posts that display her erratic behavior. Police are stating that they have no information on the troubled singer and are continuing to search for her in the area she was last seen.
