Teen HYPE (Helping Youth by Providing Education), will host its 4th annual charity benefit, An Evening in Paradise Valley Friday, Aug.12 from 7:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the Historic Ford Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit’s Paradise Valley. This annual charity event brings together 300 professionals who live, work, and play in metro Detroit to help raise much-needed operating funds for Teen HYPE. Teen HYPE is a Detroi- based 501(c)(3) youth development organization that touches the lives of thousands of teens via four core program areas: education, health, safety and the arts.

“Teen HYPE is unique because we serve the whole teen for the entire journey of their development,” says Dawn Oliver, Teen HYPE board member. “This year’s event is so much more important for our organization, as we face severe cuts in funding, we need to raise funds to continue serving the youth of metro Detroit. Eighty-five percent of every dollar raised goes to support our programs and as an organization, we strive to facilitate the discovery of teens’ true talents, interests, and potential for a bright future.”

An Evening in Paradise Valley will pay homage to Detroit’s rich history of music, fashion, and fun, with live jazz by Detroit’s own Collective Peace, craft cocktail tastings, open bar featuring 1920’s period-inspired cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, food stations, and a raffle featuring items from metro Detroit businesses like Shinola and Bleu Bowtique. In addition, there will be hosted tours of the Ford Piquette Avenue auto museum.

Founded in 2004 by Ambra Redrick and Frankie Hudson, Teen HYPE aims to heal and develop a generation of healthy young people. Through high-quality programs and supportive allies, Teen HYPE works with thousands of teens every year, focusing on personal development and encouraging solid peer and community relationships.

“This is a great event that brings local dignitaries, young professionals, new entrepreneurs and more in Detroit together to network and give back to a great cause,” says Ambra Redrick, Teen HYPE CEO. “Each year this event shines a much-needed light on the needs of Detroit youth and allows people to contribute in a positive way.”

Sponsored by Comerica Bank, St. John’s Hospital, DTE and Meijer, the goal of this event is to raise at least $50,000 to continue serving the youth of metro Detroit. Attendees must be 21 and older to attend An Evening in Paradise Valley. This will definitely be one of Detroit’s can’t miss events. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.teenhype.org.
